Demere Park, one of the smallest parks in the Golden Isles.
It is located on Demere Road toward the south end of St. Simons Island. This park offers a baseball/softball field, restrooms, a community room, a playground, a skate park, benches, and two gardens. Along the front of the park you can explore.
The Demere Park Rose Garden is also beautifully landscaped under two palms trees at the corner of the skate park, maintained by the St. Simons Island Garden Council.
The skate park, open daily from sunrise to sunset, provides mini ramps, bank ramps, and rails to practice skateboarding or in-line skating.
Tucked back into the shaded southwest corner of the park, under a grove of mossy live oaks, sits a simple jungle gym and swings for children to enjoy. Parking and restrooms are on-site.

Live Oaks Garden Club recently refurbished the Butterfly Garden at the park. The garden has been designed to welcome butterflies and encourage all four stages of butterfly development. There is plentiful milkweed in the garden now to invite the butterflies to lay their eggs there.
For approximately 15 years the Live Oaks Garden Club has tended to the garden. The club studied other butterfly gardens and identifying plants that were best for the butterflies. In March and April, they added about 200 new plants to encourage butterflies to visit and multiply.
