Have you ever been on vacation and needed to find a babysitter?
It can be hard work, especially if your kids are little. Luckily we’ve got some tips for making the process go as smoothly as possible!
The first thing you need to decide is what type of babysitting arrangement will work best for your vacation plans. Do you need someone who can watch my kids during the day or would an overnight sitter at your vacation rental or resort cover your bases? Once these questions have been answered, it’s time to start looking through potential nannies!
If you have friends or family in the area, ask them for recommendations. You can also check out websites like SitterCity.com, Care.com or Brightstarcare. to find babysitters in your area.
Once you have found a few potential babysitters, the next step is to interview them. This is an important step, as you want to make sure are comfortable leaving your children in their care. Be sure to ask them about their experience, as well as what type of childcare they are comfortable with.
Good tips to know before you go:
- Leave devices and games or make sure there are some movies on queue to keep the kids occupied.
- Make sure meals are taken care of before and don’t forget the snacks!
- If outdoor activities may come into play, set out the towels, sunscreen and water wings.
