Returning November 28, 2025 to January 4, 2026! It’s the best time of the year! A time filled with lights, festive fun, and lots of cheer. Every day of the holiday season is filled with joy and merriment, so whether you’re visiting Jekyll Island for the day or the month, there is a holly jolly lineup for you.

1,000,000 + TOTAL LIGHT BULBS, 30 + LIGHT DISPLAYS, 45,000 + LIGHTS ON THE GREAT TREE

Jekyll Island is home to more than half a million lights during the Holly Jolly Jekyll season. The Great Tree alone has more than 35,000 lights, which is more per square foot than the NYC Rockefeller Center Christmas tree. Visitors can also enjoy the Twelve Days of Christmas light displays that run from Great Dunes Beach Park to the Historic District, along Shell Rd. Count the days until Christmas in this coastal wonderland! Those looking to sit back and relax with the whole family can experience all of the island’s lights from our Holly Jolly Light Tours.

Holidays In History

Take a ride back to the Gilded Age in one of Jekyll Island’s iconic trollies to explore what the holidays were like for members of the Jekyll Island Club. Experience Jekyll’s much-loved Historic Landmark tour reimagined for the holidays, with many enchanting anecdotes from the period told in a beautifully decorated setting. Make your way through a decorated cottage, hear Jekyll Island’s connections to longstanding holiday traditions, and learn the stories of Club Christmases for members and employees alike! No tours on Christmas Eve and Day. Ride back in time in a vintage Model T on a private tour of the lights in the Historic District. Select nights throughout the season.

Special Holly Jolly Jekyll events you won’t want to miss:

December 20 at 5–8 p.m., The Holly Jolly Jekyll Light Parade is a festive holiday tradition featuring decorated vehicles and golf carts traveling from Beach Village to the Jekyll Island Golf Club. Open to families, businesses, and organizations, it’s a fun and spirited way to celebrate the season and spread holiday cheer.
A holiday tradition at the Jekyll Island Club Resort, the HOLIDAY HIGH TEA is the perfect opportunity to gather your closest friends and family for a festive afternoon filled with delicious treats and beautiful decorations. Enjoy the sounds of the season while you sip on the expansive selection of teas and dine on tea sandwiches, soup, warm scones, and exquisite sweets—reservations are required.
December 6, noon-4 p.m., join Santa for some extra holiday fun with a visit to the Winter Carnival & Big Truck Roundup! Kids can enjoy free carnival rides, games, and music on the Village Green. Plus, sit behind the wheel of emergency vehicles from Jekyll Island Fire/EMS and Georgia State Patrol at Great Dunes Beach Park.
