Summer kids’ camps from Coastal Outdoor Adventure Camps offer hands-on learning about the marine environment while staying active and engaged outdoors.

These camps are not only fun and exciting but also educational, providing a hands-on experience that allows kids to explore the marine world in an interactive way.
Capt. Brooks Good has a background in marine science and wildlife biology, along with over a decade as a professional biologist on the Georgia Coast. From vibrant marine life to diverse coastal wildlife, St. Simons Island offers unparalleled beauty, and Capt. Good enjoys introducing kids to its magic.
2025 Summer Camps:
Shark Fest St. Simons Camp
Most people only get to watch it on the Discovery Channel. Your kids get to experience it! Campers will have the opportunity to fish with local fishing guides for a variety of coastal sharks, including bonnethead, blacktip, Atlantic sharpnose, and spinner sharks just to name a few. In addition to fishing, kids will learn about local techniques used to catch sharks and other fish!
- When: Camps are 2-day adventures offered on select dates during the summer (9am – 12pm)
- Location: Saint Simons Island
- Cost: $225 per child.
Junior Biologist Camp
Get ready for two unforgettable days packed with adventure and discovery! At the Junior Biologist Camp, kids will immerse themselves in hands-on activities like beach seining, cast netting, and identifying fascinating marine fishes and invertebrates. It’s the perfect opportunity to explore coastal wildlife up close while learning and having fun.
- Held on selected dates during the summer (9am-12pm)
- $199 per child
Coastal Adventure Combo Camp
Looking for the ultimate coastal experience for your child? The Coastal Adventure Combo Camp combines the best of our SharkFest and Jr. Biologist camps, offering two days of fun-filled exploration and learning.
Day 1: Hop aboard a COA vessel for an exciting day of fishing! Participants will cast lines for a variety of species, including sharks, whiting, stingrays, and other inshore favorites.
Day 2: Get ready to explore marshes and sandbar habitats! Campers will try their hand at cast netting, seining, and discovering fascinating coastal wildlife.
- When: 2-day sessions available on select summer dates (9 AM–12 PM)
- Where: Boat departs from Hampton River Marina, St. Simons (north end)
- Who: Open to children aged 6–14
- Cost: $225 per child
