Join us for turtle time on Little St. Simons Island.
For several weeks each summer, endangered Loggerhead Sea Turtles lay nests on the Island’s undisturbed beaches. From July through August hatchlings emerge from these nests and dash to the tideline to begin their lives.
In celebration of this age-old annual ritual, the Island hosts evening beach walks, presentations, and post-hatch nest inventories dedicated to exploring the wonderful world of sea turtles. Although seeing turtles is not guaranteed, this program provides an opportunity to learn about their life history in addition to enjoying Little St. Simons Island’s other Naturalist-led excursions.
Join us for a summer like no other discovering the fascinating lives of Loggerhead Sea Turtles.
